Key Name Description 
Left Selection Options Display menu of command options. 
Right Selection Exit Exit the application. 
1 Image Capture Take a picture for text recognition. 
2 File Explorer Access saved document and image files to read or delete them. 
3 Recent Documents Access recently viewed documents to read or delete them. 
4 Settings View and change user settings. 
5 License Activations Add licenses for additional languages. 
6 Help Read and navigate the User Guide. 
9 About Get status and version information. 

(Note: Left Selection and Right Selection functions can change when a menu or dialog is displayed.) 

Image Capture Screen 

Key Name Description 
Left Selection Options Display menu of command options. 
Right Selection Back Return to the previous screen. 
1, Enter Capture and Read Take a picture, process the image for text, and read the text. 
2 Field of View Report. Obtain a report on how well the camera is positioned. (knfbReader Mobile only) 
4 Settings View and change user settings for image capture. 
5 New Document Start a new document. 
0 Recognize U.S. Currency.  Recognize the denomination and orientation of a U.S. Currency bill. (knfbReader Mobile only) 
* Home Return to the Home screen. 

File Explorer Screen 

Key Name Description 
Left Selection Options Display menu of command options. 
Right Selection Back Navigate to the parent directory. If at the root directory, return to the previous screen. 
1 Root Directory Go to the user’s root directory. 
2 Open Open the selected file. 
3 Erase Erase the selected file. 
* Home Return to the Home screen. 


Text Navigation Screen 

Key Name Description 
Left Selection Options Display menu of command options. 
Right Selection Back Return to the previous screen. 
1 Pause or Resume Reading Pause reading, or resume from when last paused or interrupted. 
2 Beginning of Document Navigate to the beginning of the document. 
3 Settings View or change settings for text navigation. 
4 Translation Turn translation on or off. 
5 Screen Up Navigate up by a screenful of text. 
6 Save Files Save the text document, image file or both. 
7 Spell Current Word Spell the currently selected word. 
8 Screen Down Navigate down by a screenful of text. 
9 Reprocess the Image Reprocess the image in a new reading format. 
0 End of Document Navigate to the end of the document. 
* Home Return to the Home screen.
